Cascadia Wildlands WildCAT Field Checking BASECAMP will take place in the U.S. Forest Service’s Divide Project, located within the Detroit District of the Willamette National Forest (Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians land) from June 20-25th, 2024. The project area is about 1.5 hour drive from Eugene.

Field Checking involves exploring and documenting an area that is within a proposed timber sale on public lands. Cascadia Wildlands monitors timber sales on U.S. Forest Service managed lands including the Willamette, Umpqua, and Siuslaw National Forests as well as Bureau of Land Management (BLM) managed lands in the Coos Bay, Northwest Oregon, and Roseburg districts. The Field Checking Basecamp is an opportunity to learn how to effectively do this work, and learn from and create connections with others in our movement to defend and restore the ecosystems in the region.
