BAAJA is a Trojan Horse for Extractive Industry

The American Affordability and Jobs Act is a Trojan Horse – Tell Congress to VOTE NO

The latest attack on public lands, imperiled species protections, cultural safeguards and public participation is wrapped in a thin veneer of ‘permitting reform.’ The American Affordability and Jobs Act (S. 5653) would undermine the Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, National Historic Preservation Act and National Environmental Policy Act, while severely limiting public participation in decision-making and restricting judicial review.

Our public lands and natural resources are an essential part of our communities, economy, and quality of life. We should be strengthening protections for these shared resources, not fast tracking their exploitation. Join us in urging our elected leaders to vote NO on S. 5653, the American Affordability and Jobs Act and oppose all legislative proposals that weaken environmental protections, undermine state and Tribal authority, or limit public participation and access to the courts.
