Cascadia Wildlands’ work is grounded in the science of climate change.
We know that our region is seeing the worsening effects of fossil-fuel driven climate change at unprecedented rates. Our forest, watershed, and species work is an essential part of imagining and creating a climate-stable future. Our work to protect forests and wildlife will ultimately be for naught if we do not confront the existential threat of climate change.
In addition to our core litigation and policy work for forests, watersheds, and species, Cascadia Wildlands is also deeply engaged in regional climate movements and campaigns. Specifically, Cascadia Wildlands is a founding member and the fiscal sponsor of the Fossil Free Eugene Coalition (FFE). Through our work with FFE, Cascadia Wildlands advocates for strong electrification policy in Oregon’s Willamette Valley and beyond, collaborates with other communities working toward a fossil free future, and endeavors to ensure cities meet their climate goals.
