Field Checking Mapping Skills Webinar

Strong mapping and navigation abilities are essential for effectively field checking proposed timber sales. To help sharpen these skills, we’re hosting a webinar training on Thursday, September 3, from 4-5 pm. This training will be recorded if you can’t make it.
We’ll cover topics including:
- How to find maps for a given timber sale online and download them onto your phone or computer
- How to upload maps into FO Maps (a free mapping app similar to Avenza)
- How to place pins on a map in FO Maps and add geo-tagged photos
- How to utilize LiDAR (tree height) data
- How to export and share pins
- Tips and tricks for navigating to units
